Who We Are

Refuge Youth Center is an outreach to at risk youth in the Issaquah area.

We have created an after school youth program for High school teens to learn life skills in a safe environment and become loving and responsible adults. We have begun building trusting relationships with our teens by means of providing food and friendship in a “living room” environment.

What We Do

We provide advice in interviewing and connect them to summer jobs in our community. We have music and art day; we mentor ethics and leadership, solving conflict, personal boundaries and finances. We provide activities on Fridays, when the alternative school is not in session giving the teens fun and healthy activities, including trips to the Zoo, Aquarium and museums, and many others all lead by approved volunteers.

Where We’re Going

We look forward to fieldtrips to colleges and vocational schools, as interest arises. Along with volunteering in the high schools we are looking for a location to further our outreach and meet the needs of the many youth in our community. It is our goal to work beside the volunteer groups in our city for a safer, healthier Issaquah.

How You Can Help
